Just Textures, Layers, & Vibrant Tones
One of the things I love the most about creating abstract art is experimenting with colours, layers, textures, and techniques and letting the piece reveal itself to me.
When I paint, I very rarely have a specific vision in mind of what I’d like to create. I just experiment, play, and improvise. Sometimes I love the results, sometimes I don’t, but regardless of the outcome, I always love the process.
Creating abstract art is one of the few areas in my life where I have zero expectations and never feel frustrated. I never judge myself for failing to create a masterpiece or worry what other people may think, I just immerse myself in the experience and see what happens. It’s very liberating. And if by some happy accident I create something I want to share with others, it’s even more satisfying.
The Beauty Is in the Details
Once I’ve completed a painting, I like to photograph it and play with different edits, zooming in on different areas and details to highlight some of my favourite features. This painting in particular lends itself to different cuts.
For copyright purposes, I’ve uploaded relatively small versions of the photos below, therefore the quality may not be the best.
