This is one of my favourite recent experiments, created by layering acrylics on a canvas board and using art paper to lift the colours off the surface, transferring the artwork in the process resulting in some really interesting patterns and textures.
This piece incorporates black, white, blue, and red and also has some patches of gold paint that add subtle metallic touches.
I think it’s beautiful and I find the patterns fascinating, but it does tend to remind me of forest fires which is not the happiest of subject matter to hang on your wall!

Acrylic Feathers/Batman Tribute!

In this piece, I used the same technique with striking results. I don’t often use a lot of black in my abstract pieces but am enjoying the dramatic effects that it adds here!
If I’m honest, I wouldn’t consider this a completed piece in itself but I do appreciate it as a practice piece and I learnt a lot from the process that I’ll apply to future works.
What do you think? Comments welcome 🙂
