The other day, I went to the beach for a leisurely walk with my friend and my dog and instantly regretted not having my camera with me!
It was a fabulous day for big fluffy clouds, so despite not having my “good camera”, I couldn’t resist taking a few shots with my phone instead. As my phone is quite old, the results weren’t the best quality, however, they were good enough to use as the basis for some digital art. And in just a few minutes of playing around with the editing tools and levels on my phone, I had converted my not-so-impressive beach shots into some pretty cool images (even if I do say so myself!).
Generally, I prefer more natural looking landscape photography and seek to bring out the natural beauty of the scenery when I’m taking photos. However, as an artist, I love big, dramatic, abstract images with striking contrasts and strong colours, which these photos really lend themselves to. I love the results, and I hope you do to!
I’ll be using at least one of these for inspiration for an upcoming painting, so will share the results when they are ready.
Bring On The Drama!
